Has your writing mojo deserted you? Don’t panic, it’s pretty easy to get it back. Just take a deep breath and read our handy hints to rediscover your inner writing superstar.

As Techwalls’ Michael Chibuzor puts it, “If you want to write, you can.”

He’s right. And here are five tips to help you out:

1. Love What You Do

Know what you want to write and why you want to write it. Remember that every time you feel particularly pooped. A word of advice: if your sole motivation is moolah, you could fast run out of puff.

2. Find Your Shining Moment

Every writer has moments in their day where they’d rather waste time on Farmville than write. It’s not a bad thing, all you have to do is find your peak writing time and make sure you’re getting the most out of it.

Tax your brain at different times of day and see which one best invigorates the flow. You’ll get a lot more done that way.

3. When You Hit a Brick Wall, Push Through It

There comes a moment in every writer’s day when everything on the page seems like garbage. Have no fear; it’s not the end of the world.

Take time out to clear your head and get yourself back on the right track. When you return to the page you’ll often find the writing quickly sorts itself out.

4. Reward Yourself

Set a list of goals for your day and give yourself a pat on the back for every one you tick off – even if you don’t get them all.

5. Celebrate Good Times

Whether it’s a knees-up with your mates or ten minutes looking at funny videos of cats on YouTube, make time to party every time you finish something big. All work and no play is no fun for anyone.

It’s easy to become a writing superstar. Feel the love for your writing and everything you produce will be amazing.

But don’t forget these wise words from the blogging site Social Media Magic: “If the content isn’t up to scratch, or the writing is terrible, say goodbye to your community.”
